Hi! I’ve done an image search through the ukiyo-e.org database and looked through online lists of artists and their seals but haven’t found anything on this rather gruesome print of samurai warriors presenting the head of either an enemy or a relative to a woman. Any help in identifying the artist and scene would be much appreciated. Also, what does the seal represent, if anything? Thanks!

Thank you, Lucienne, for the information. I really appreciate it. I remember, as I was looking at online lists of ukiyo-e artist names and their seals, seeing the name Tomioka Eisen and that the hiragana associated with his name and aliases were most similar to the hiragana on my print. I couldn't find the seal on my print anywhere, though, so a big thank you for locating it on the Yahoo! Japan auction site. And now, after seeing the red seal on the print on Yahoo, I believe I know what it is. I think it's the head of a chick as it's hatching from an egg! So the information you've provided has been very helpful, including learning I can look on the Japanese Yahoo! auction site for prints there in the future. Cheers!
