Hello every Woodblock lovers !
I do a new post because I met issue for update my previous post. I apologies for my English. I am a French speaker.
So I’ve just bought a woodblock from a serie named Kinsei Azuma nishiki 近世東錦. It is a chirimen woodblock.
Internet (the web) gives only few data about the serie.
It is anonimous. There is no custom seal.
There is one cursive seal. I ll put a picture when I ll get the item. Can it be the name of a publisher, drawer, engraver ?
I found only a second woodblock from this serie. Have you seen other woodblock of this serie ? Have you picture or data to share ?
Ricard Bru i Turull in the work « Atraccions japoneses d’Enric Cristòfol Ricart. Dels chirimen-e als haikus » informs us that a Catalan collector, Oleguer Junyent (1876 – 1956) has owned the complete serie. Does those Woodblocks can be viewed or are documented ?
I’ll be glad to share all my data with you. Let me know.
Franck
What is this seal on the anonymous woodblock ? What is it written? Cursive is difficult to read
