Does anyone recognize this? It doesn’t seem to be in the database. I tried some Kanji recognition and got the following: Heiji Koremoto, which I believe refers to the Heiji Incident of 1159, where I believe Koremoto is one of the characters. It is possible the kabuki is about this incident, but I’m just guessing. I’d really love to know who the artist is.
Thanks for any help!
Your print is probably the left (or center) panel of a triptych...(or diptych)
The artist might be Kunimasa III
example of his artwork also 1884

Unfortunately your print only indicates actor/role
Ichikawa Kuzo III 市川九蔵
Zesai jitsuha Kaheiji 是 是斎ハ嘉平治
I found only one performance with Kuzo as Kaheiji... it is
Tane-hisago Shinsho Taikoki
種瓢真書太閤記
Ichimura theater
1884/10
An 1840 impersonation directly linked to Zesai/Kaheiji

Thank you very, very much. This is extremely helpful and gives me a lot to research more deeply.
Thank you again very much!
Bob
Sorry, please read the artist might be Kunimasa IV 国政
It really isn't my day !
The correct spelling of the role is
Zesai 是斎
jitsu ha 実ハ
Kihieiji 嘉平治
